Elisa Swanson
Attorney
Elisa Swanson attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she received a B.A. in American History. She studied law at the University of Oregon, receiving her J.D. in 2001. Ms. Swanson was awarded a Public Interest Fund grant during law school, allowing her to spend the summer at California Rural Legal Assistance in Salinas, California, where she assisted the organization in its defense of farm workers and the rural poor. During law school Ms. Swanson served as an Articles Editor and Summer Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review. She was also elected to serve as Director of the Moot Court Board and has a published law review article that examines the intersection of law, mental illness, and juvenile crime.
Devoted to the practice of law as a method of progressive change, Ms. Swanson has spent the past seven years representing plaintiffs and consumers throughout California. She is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court, Northern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
