Lemon Law Alert: Ford F-150: Instrument Panel
Around 7,000 new, model-year 2017, Ford F-150 pickup trucks that were manufactured from Oct. 4 to Nov. 23, 2016 at the Dearborn Assembly Plant in Michigan and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri, may have an instrument panel that does not light up the transmission position indicator. This could result in unintended vehicle movement causing injury or a crash. Also, a malfunctioning instrument panel cluster display may prevent warning chimes, messages and warning lights from activating.
Ford is offering to have its dealers reprogram the instrument cluster display for free. If you have had this problem, you should consult a consumer lawyer and lemon law practitioner.
Ford has not yet released an owner notification schedule.
Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
